Our Living Cemetery begins with our interest in building a community around shared loss, and with the idea that absence and pain are necessary tools for transformation.

Living across platforms — from intimate gatherings to a large scale experience — this project exists somewhere between a memorial, a celebration, a therapeutic system, and a collective art project. These concepts and practices thrive in fluctuation, just as our loss and need for change does.

Led by Lily Baldwin, Our Living Cemetery was started with Janet Wong as an exploration with the Guild of Future Architects at the beginning of the pandemic.
